How to create a base for your miniature!

Hello everyone! Today we show to you, how you can to create a base for your miniatures with simple steps.

Choose a piece of wood (of your choice).
Paint it with the varnish (of your choise).

The miniature which will make the base is "Attila" from Scale75.

Standing base consists from stone tiles and grass.
In our base we choise stone tiles and grass.

We choose small stones look like stone tiles.

For the grass there are several ways be made. The most famous is to use old used paint brushes. The bristles of the brushes give physical representation of grass ....

... also you can use artificial grass for models-dioramas.

We try to show you another way how can make grass.
We get a cable and a carver-cutter....

... remove the outer cladding of cable ...

... with a pair of scissors, cut small and thin wires in tufts of about one centimeter ...

... and save these tufts on UHU Patafix for later use.

Τhe next step is to make a roughcast, how will look our base.

Let's go for final result.
The top of the base wrap with paper tape to avoid become dirty our base.

We will use a two part epoxy putty. We get two pieces, a piece from the one putty and a piece from the other ( in analogy 1:1 ) and mix them for 5 minutes in order to become a homogeneous material-mass. We have 4 hour ( before harden ) so we can process it and give it the shape we want ( we will make reference to another post about what materials we use and what properties each have).

We place the putty over the base and spread it across the surface of the base.

We place our miniature on the base and add the stone tiles around.

After that step we add and grass between of stone tiles.

When pass four hour we can paint the base.
First hand of painting we use a base color for based primer.

Next step of painting we try to illustrate the texture of stone tiles.

Now we assemble the model and we will show you the final result.

Thank You for watching!!!
You are welcome every time.
